Lecture/reading summary 9/17

In lecture we went through different art movements some of the ones we touched on were Post Modernism was a shift from a dialog taking place in person in New York and Paris, to a mediated dialog through art fairs and media. Modernism, was a rapid progression of styles it was transgressive or opposition to mainstream society. Impressionism, was popular among the artist Monet. Post-Impressionism, consisted of inventing not copying. Fauves/Cubism many countries had different styles they like to use but a famous artist of the time was Pablo Picasso.
